Rainer Beilharz Australian16 ¼” Viola, 2021

This 16 ¼” viola has high arching in the style of the early Brescian Masters which undoubtably contributes to it’s massive, rich sound. The dark, woody character of the bass strings flows seamlessly into clear, crisp upper registers with a nice balance both between strings and throughout the range.

Rainer Beilharz is an award-winning violin maker, a founding member of the Australian Violin Makers Association (AVMA) and a member of the Entente Internationale des Maitres Luthiers et Archetiers d’Art (EILA). He works in Castlemaine, Central Victoria.

Beautiful boxwood fittings and Evah Pirazzi Gold strings complement the maker’s excellent set-up.

This viola would be suitable for the advanced student or professional player.
