Alex Grant Violins respectfully acknowledges the traditional and continuing custodians of this land on which we live and work, the people of the Woiwurrung and Boonwurrung language groups of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded.
Yes, we can provide an insurance valuation for your instrument or bow. This will include a market value and a condition report which are generally required when insuring items over 50 years old. You can book a valuation appointment here. Any supporting documentation you can provide can help keep research costs to a minimum.
We offer a 24hr bow rehair appointment service which can be made in advance. Bows with a reservation which are delivered to us on the morning of the appointment will be ready for collection around 11.00am the following day. As our schedule is often heavily booked we recommend planning your visit ahead of time. Please contact us to discuss the timeline for any additional bow services or repairs which you may require.
Each instrument in our showroom is unique. If you try out an instrument at Grant Violins and would like to buy it, you can certainly buy that actual instrument, no question.
Generally, checking over your instrument is free of charge. You may have to leave it at the shop for a day or so for an appraisal. If it requires any attention, we will provide a quotation. You can book a workshop appraisal here.
We’d be happy to look at it and make an assessment of what might be causing the problem; you can book a workshop appraisal appointment here.
