Hart & Son English Cello Bow, c.1920

George Hart II, the third generation of Harts to run this most prestigious Wardour Street firm, oversaw a large workshop which specialised in string instruments and fine, French inspired bows.

This beautiful gold mounted cello bow comprises a dark chocolate coloured pernambuco stick with an ebony frog decorated with Parisian eyes; the adjuster of ebony fully sheathed in gold.

It produces a clear, bright, refined sound with excellent response and well articulated spicatto and sautillé. At 79 gm it is perfectly weighted and balanced to allow ease of long, sustained bow strokes.
