4/4 Heinrich Gill Cello, Germany,c.2014

Heinrich Gill founded the now famous musical instrument making company in Bubenreuth, Bavaria, in 1952. The company passed to the current owner, Bernd Dimbath, in 1990. Dimbath, a violin maker himself, restructured the company to focus on stringed instrument production with enormous success. Technically advanced processes ensure that new Heinrich Gill instruments are at the cutting edge of performance capabilities.

This fantastic sounding cello performs well above its price range and will be a real bargain for the right player. The back plate is of two pieces of flamed maple; the sides are of matching wood and the top plate is of fine tonewood. It is covered in a light golden brown varnish which has a very subtle shaded pattern; it is based on a Golden Period Stradivari model with all proportions correct which makes it comfortable to play.

Ideally suited to the advancing student looking towards tertiary level study, this cello is fitted up to our ‘Master’ standard with Larsen Ill Cannone strings.
