Leon Mougenot French violin, Mirecourt 1918

Leon Mougenot, on his various travels, worked for E. Laurent, Georges Mougenot, Paul Blanchard and W. E. Hill and Sons.

Around the end of the 19th century, he established his own workshop in Mirecourt which was to become very successful on account of his excellent workmanship and exacting standards.

This very attractive violin has excellent resonance with clear articulation. It has a quick response to the bow, and a wide range of dynamics. It is evenly balanced and has a smooth, projecting tone.
