Description

Specialists in cello and double bass, the Rubner workshop is situated in the heart of the Saxon violin making centre of Markneukirchen.

This attractive 30 year old cello features a two piece, narrow, regularly flamed maple back plate with matching ribs and head and a two piece top plate, all covered in a lovely shaded amber coloured varnish. It is in excellent condition.

It has a nicely textured sound with a quick response and a clear, bright tone that offers loads of volume and carries well. It’s well balanced across the strings, having a complex, gutsy lower end with a lovely clarity in the upper registers. This is a responsive and comfortable cello to play, and would be well suited to the advanced student, enthusiastic amateur or young professional.
