Marc Laberte French Violin Bow, c.1920

A terrific French violin bow comprising first class materials and typically crisp workmanship, a bow which offers answers to the full gamut of bowing techniques in a light and well balanced package.

Mark Laberte was a director of the Laberte-Humbert Freres workshop, one of the largest and most influential firms of instrument and bow makers in Mirecourt. He developed considerable expertise through careful study of his own collection of fine master instruments but, whilst this bow is stamped with his name, it’s thought that the bows that emanated from the business were outsourced from the great Mirecourt bow making community.
