Mirecourt, nestled in the Vosges region of France, is one of the great musical instrument making centres of the 18^th and 19^th centuries, many of the great French makers served their apprenticeships in this important town. Top quality workshops produced some of the best trade instruments, many like this were destined to be sent all over the world and left unlabelled for the local supplier to insert their own marketing labels.
