Hermann Prell German Cello Bow, c.1910
Almost as crisp as the day it was made, this beautifully crafted, silver mounted bow stamped “Herm. W. Prell” is a ‘must try’.
Hermann Willhelm Prell was born in Bohemia but trained in Germany at the A. Nurnberger workshop in Markneukirchen. He worked for Eugene Sartory in Paris before returning to Markneukirchen in the late 1800’s to set up his own workshop where he produced high quality bows. Antique bows of this quality and condition are rare and definitely worth serious attention.
