German Violin Bow,Tubbs Copy c.1910

A ‘dark chocolate’ Pernambuco stick and silver mounted ebony frog complete this lovely German Tubbs copy violin bow which both works and sounds beautifully, a ‘must try’ for the advanced student.

Violin makers often made copies of famous violins, Stradivari for example, bow makers also often made copies of famous masters and apply the name of the master being copied in homage, in this case the great English master James Tubbs. There is no intention to deceive, these copy stamps vary enough from the original to be obvious. These bows are a wonderful tribute to the original, superb quality at a fraction of the cost.
