British violin, Glasgow School c.1770

This is certainly a British violin and our feeling is that it is Scottish, of the Glasgow school, from around 1770.

Another one of these genuinely old violins with immense character and natural patina of age. It has a warm, powerful sound with good carrying power and very clear articulation. Complementing its warm sounding character, it has a very present reaction of harmonics and overtones making it very playable.

In the right hands, this violin offers a wide range of musical possibilities.
